“Gunnar A. Anderson, WWII decorated veteran and former POW, died Oct. 24, 2008, at age 93. Beloved husband of Lucille, nee Griffin and the late Helen, nee Garrott; dearest father of Cathy of Minnesota, James (Katie) of Pennsylvania, and Craig (Terri) of Minnesota; devoted son of the late Alfred and Elvira Anderson; loving brother of Arthur (Janet) and Paul (the late June) of California; fond stepfather of Kevin, Terry and Randall Griffin; dear stepgrandpa of Craig, Coby, Kelli, Erin, Ryan and Jeffrey; and great-grandpa of Max; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews and dear friend of many. Visitation Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008, at 12 p.m. until time of funeral service at 2 p.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Interment Private in Spicer, MN.”
