About Leslie Hindman Auctioneers

In 1982, Leslie Hindman founded her eponymous auction house in Chicago, Illinois, and within a few years it grew to be the largest auction house in the Midwest and one of largest in the country. The company has conducted many significant and highly publicized auctions, including sales of memorabilia from the historic Comiskey Park and Chicago Stadium, property from the Caribou Ranch and Recording Studio, and the personal property from such renowned estates as Arthur Rubloff, Mrs. Robert R. McCormick, the Potter Palmer families, and Dole heiress Elizabeth F. Cheney. The firm is also a founding partner of Bidsquare, a live auction platform formed by six leading auction houses, and owns a proprietary online bidding platform, LHLive, as well as LH Exchange, an e-commerce site specializing in high-end designer furniture and decorative arts.

As a result of the firm’s outstanding reputation, it was acquired by Sotheby’s in 1997. Since reopening in 2003, Leslie Hindman Auctioneers has handled the Estates of Lilly Pulitzer, Leona Helmsley, Dr. Paul J. Vignos Jr., Betsy Pickering Kaiser, Carol H. and Richard M. Levin, Rita Dee Hassenfeld, the collections of Ralph Esmerian, the Gary Pepper collection of Elvis Presley memorabilia and many more. The auction house, which currently conducts more than 60 auctions a year has expanded to include six regional offices in Denver, Milwaukee, Naples, Palm Beach, Scottsdale and St. Louis.”
