Dear Sir.

In answer to your inquiry of Feb 6th will state that I was born Oct 19th 1853 in Copenhagen Denmark, —
studied architecture under Professor Meldahl [Ferdinand Meldahl 1927-1908] of the Royal Danish Academy.

Came to United States of America in 1872 and changed my profession to painting very soon after. Having had no masters in painting.

Was a member of The Society of American artists and after the disolving of the society became an N.A.

Golden Medal Universal Exposition St Louis, 1904.
Show Purchase Prize Society of American Artists 1904.
Webb Landscape Prize Society of American Artists 1905.
Gold Medal (Inness) National Acaedmy 1907.
