“Fine painting for a reading man
A notable work of art has found its home in Reading through an acquisition just made by Charles T. Davis, of this city. An especially important canvas measuring 36 x 50, the work of Emil Carlsen, brings to Reading a representation from the work of an artist of international fame and one of the leaders among modern painters.
The subject is one of Mr. Carlsen’s still life arrangements for which he is most famous. It is of the type of his works owned by the Metropolitan Museum, the Worcester Museum and the Chicago Art Institute.
In Addition of this painting to Mr. Davies’ already fine collection, Reading’s standing is substantially advanced in the field of fine arts.”
