About:
“Founded in 2001, with a newly forged team of specialists having a combined 100 years of experience, we quickly established ourselves in handling everything from a single item to an entire estate, with sophistication, integrity and a rare personal attention. In our first seven years of business we sold over 20,000 lots of antiques and fine art totaling $50 million. We moved into our permanent home in 2005, and since 2008 have grown at a steady rate of 10-20% per year. Echoing this success, 97% of what we sell finds a buyer the first time offered at auction.
DSC02122stair5x6_300A wide range of auctions are held throughout the year. Among these are world-renowned private collections, English, Continental and American Fine and Decorative Arts Sales, 20th Century Fine Art Sales, as well as Asian and Ethnographic Sales. There are approximately seven Fine Sales yearly. In addition, we hold ten to twelve Exposition Sales.
The sales are vigorously promoted through email notifications which link to our online catalogues, extended exhibitions at the gallery, and print ads in local, national and international publications and trade publications throughout the United States, Europe, Asia and South America.
Over the years Stair Galleries has had numerous single owner sales from the Wellington Collection of Native American Indian Artifacts to Contemporary and Modern Art including several sales from the Jan Cowles Collection.
